I am waiting on a part from Little House Customs to come in the mail, and then I am taking off camping for a couple of days! Woo Hoo!!
No doctors or anything like that are stopping me. They can reschedule, if they try! ;)

Some time ago I read of one (Casita oriented) facility that took orders but didn't deliver, or something like that.  I  take it that it was not Little House Customs. I would like to order some stuff from LHC.

Dutchman,
I have had good luck with LHC in getting parts from them.
It was PerfectCasita (OMW) that I ordered the receiver hitch from. I was told that I had a six month wait. After eight months of waiting and not getting it, I called and canceled my order. ( No, I am sorry or any excuse for not getting it.

Hi Dutchman,

I'll try to help clarify the differences here for you.

Larry & Debbie Gamble, former owners of Little House Customs, LINK: Home | Little House Customs,  was the "go-to shop" for any and all mods, repairs, upgrades, and general things that you wanted done on your Casita. Larry ran an excellent shop and also ran an accompanying online store as well. Well, Larry and Debbie decided a few years ago to take a well earned retirement, and closed his shop garage. But the online store, (in the link I posted,) is still in operation and doing well. Larry's kids, Jeff & Amanda, are now the store's "proprietors" since Larry turned the business over to them. This is where you want to go to order things!

Now, that said, the one to avoid at all costs is OMW, (Orbital Machine Works,) also dba "Perfect Casita." This one used to be pretty good, but after the departure of one of the key team players several years ago, the whole "Perfect Casita" part of the business fell on its ass. They have been notorious for the past several years for not getting it done, nor fulfilling orders that were placed. Very bad business model. Apparently the company is still strong, in so much as they spend all their time building and machining hi-tech aerospace components, but the whole "Casita" part of the business just died on the vine. It was so bad, that frustrated people who placed orders, and had not received what they had paid for, couldn't even reach anybody for "customer service" help. This is definitely the one to avoid at all costs.

Never used them but heard lots of complaints over the years like Greg says......just wonder why a company wouldoperate like that....if you don;t want to be in the Casita business.....get out.....why piss people off?   Makes no sense.

Years ago, (I think ten?) we had a good experience with OMW when we bought the shocks. We love the shocks!! But we got a completely different shock when, much later, we ordered the spare tire rack. It had to be powder coated, then there was some issue with shipping, and it took a while to get here. Now, it appears, things at OMW have gone downhill fast. I went on their website the other day and they seem to have redirected their efforts to other things...but still keep "casita parts' on their webpage. IMHO, if they don't want to play in our Egg nest anymore, they should just out and say so, distribute or discard their stock and call it a day.

Perfect Casita or OMW wont be getting any of my business or referrals. I trusted on my six month delivery date and they failed to deliver with two extra months.

Hate to say this, but still waiting on my parts, so no camping this weekend or next week, due to the thunderstorms that are predicted. 🥺

While I don't want to appear defending either Perfect Casita or OMW since I've had no dealings with either, the entire RV industry has a delivery problem.  I've ordered Domestic parts (through multiple dealers) and promised delivery times were a joke.  A 2 week order gets canceled after 2 months, etc.  Escape Trailer Industries has had to delay deliveries of trailers due to back orders on appliances.  While the current demand for RVs of all types has hit the manufacturers hard, have your recently tried to order a home appliance?  My recent refrigerator purchase (American made) took 4 months. Now it is undelivered electronics shutting down parts of the automobile industry.  Things are a bit of a mess!

Vermilye,
I dont have a problem waiting on parts within a reasonable time, but when someone gives me a time and then can not meet it even with extra time, I aint a happy camper, fisherman, or whatever.
Remember waiting on a phone man or a cable guy all day to fix a problem?
As far as deliveries; a friend told me that he needed a new icebox, so he went to a south side Lowes to get one .... two weeks delivery. He went to the north side Lowes and they told him they would deliver the same icebox in two days! Now something aint right with this dates!
My opinion is that this will all straighten back out when the government reaches down and pulls their heads out of the caboose.

Government? That would be socialism which is triggering for all of the back-to-front wipers. We are experiencing the cold, hard cruelties of unfettered capitalism. You know, Greed Over People.

Our kitchen refrigerator quit working sometime after the tariffs went in and Covid hit. We were lucky...we got the very last 18' cubic foot fridge that Home Depot had in the entire COUNTY. I could have bought some big stainless steel monster big enough to engulf a whole steer, but all I wanted was a fridge that fits in the gap in my kitchen! It was black and dented but I was happy to get it. The saleswoman said 'everything' is back ordered, parts for assembly are on freighters that can't be unloaded, the US factories are on limited schedules due to Covid,"

As for Lowes...at least here in WA, Lowes really doesn't care to sell to peasants like me. They prefer to deal only with big money contractors.
