Does anyone use an agm battery in the battery compartment?

Am trying to locate one that will fit into the battery compartment of my 2007 17'SD.  Current size in there is 27.

Plus, having trouble finding one that does not have the cranking option since, of course, I don't plan to put a motor in the trailer.

Any ideas welcome.

I have a 100AH Group 27T AGM battery in my 2003 17SD.  To me worth the extra purchase price.  I did not install it but if I recall correctly only minimal adjustment was needed to fit the rear end in the back.  What I like most of all is that I closed the battery door and do not expect to have to open it for the next four or five years.

Does anyone know if there is a 3 stage parallax upgrade that is compatible with an agm?

It sounds like the 4 stage converters will ruin an agm unless the equalization mode can be permanently shut off.

Most AGMs will work with a standard 3 stage charger, I used an Iota 30 amp for my lifeline AGM for over 10 years.  http://www.bestconverter.com/has some of the best prices/options I've seen.

Did you replace the original Parallax with this converter?  How hard was it to do?

What are the issues with AGM batteries electrically or otherwise in the Casita? Does and don't also. Amazon is an authorized dealer of those batteries Joe mentioned. Any possible issues with the tow vehicle when hooked up?

Wally,

I had an AGM battery in my older 1994 Casita which had a stock 2005 converter in it for about 4 years and no troubles with charging or tow vehicle charging.... It was nice not to have to check the water level or gassing problems inside my 16' model with the battery inside under the bench.

When my Interstate gives out i may go for that battery

That's what I'm thinking also. When my Interstate dies I'll be getting one of those. Just want to make sure the stock converter will charge it without problems.

Trojan also makes a true deep cycle agm battery

http://www.ecodirect...YmzYaAohW8P8HAQ

True deep cycle = very thick plates (best for RV's where no engine starting required and supreme storage and re-charging capabilities)

RV/motorhome deep cycle = medium thick plates (best for starting and storage)

Regular car battery = Thin plates meant for starting

If you have the room nothing beats two 6 volt golf cart deep storage batteries

I just ordered the VMAX MR 127 AGM 100ah from the VMAX website hot Amazon. Free shipping on first time order. They also have accessories so I ordered the wing nut attaching bolts.  Got it all for the same price Amazon has it. Thought I would go straight to the source and they have all the specs. there also. Won't be any warranty questions if I have any issues even though Amazon is a recognized dealer.
