Like many Casita owners, we do not like the standard Venetian blinds. We have cellular blinds in our house and decided they would work well in the Casita (17' FD). We measured and ordered them from Blindster.com. They have a variety of blinds and quality but we ordered the Premium Light Filtering Double Cellular Shades because of the quality and the selection of colors (42). We got the top-down-bottom-up shades to give flexibility on how we open them. They were running a special when we order so we got the four needed blinds for $242 - no tax and free shipping. They arrived in less than 2 weeks from placing the order.

We mounted the new blinds by removing the existing "L" brackets and using the window frame screws in the same manner as the factory. We used the screws closest to the outside edge where possible to give better support. The wider blinds also have a center bracket. We plan to replace the elastic loops at the bottom with Velcro straps and buttons on the bottom of the blinds.

I will be offering the old blinds to any one that is interested for complete replacement or for replacement slats.

How did you size for the shades?  Did you use the exact measurements for the window or did you leave an overhang on each side, top and bottom? I’m wanting to get rid of the flimsy metal blinds that came with our 2018 Casita SD.

Are they black out shades? It doesn't appear to be so in your pictures.

This is kinda an old thread so you may not get an answer to your question.  I just went to the website and checked it out.  They do have blackout shades with a selection of colors.  I'm thinking of getting the top-down bottom-up shades for a bathroom in my home.
