I don't know if it is just me, (and I don't have this problem with any other websites I view, or forums that I follow,) but lately it seems that everything about this site is running extremely slow to load. Maybe the "Mods" need to "purge" some of the spambot bloat and all the "fake names" requesting validation on this site, and get it running up to speed again. Just sayin'. None of the other places I visit are this bogged down. Something needs to be done to "drain the swamp" here again.

There are times when the website won't load and it just buffers until I lose interest and move on with my life. Most days it works and when it does, I don't notice any of the content loading slowly. My biggest irritation is the site flipping pictures on their side when uploading. I cannot get my profile picture to load upright and I've approached it from several different angles, but it still won't load correctly. Pew!

Sometimes it doesn't open on the first try but will on the second.  I haven't noticed It running slowly at all.

Euphoria, I've NEVER had ANY website open in a snap. Our bandwidth here in 'rural" Thurston county is so bad there are folks who can't get online at all.

Verizon is the only service that gets out this far.

Slow loading? I have learned to live with the tin can and wire internet service out here in the middle of nowhere. 🙄

I'll be damned. It worked. I wonder if it has something to do with cropping the picture within the margins of the frame? I notice Carol's version was smaller than mine. Oh well, it is fixed now. Thanks Carol!

I hear ya Meadowlark....living rural has it's benefits but internet service is not one of them.....sometimes I think our service is brought in via horse drawn wagons.....some days the horses are very tired.  LOL!

Toddy,

All I did was right click on your photo, copy image, and paste it into Adobe Photoshop (a very old version).  Then I rotated it 90 degrees and saved it as a jpg.  I didn't intentionally change the size or anything else.  Happy it worked for you.

I think any kind of photo edit program would work.

I have not had an issues of slow loading over the recent past few weeks. Like Meadowlark, I'm getting internet via a very slow rural ISP

I have a 100Mb connection when at home (at least during the times that Spectrum isn't slowing it down of going away).  I've noticed that the slow running/loading is intermittent.  Today it is working normally, a couple of days ago it was taking 10 - 15 seconds to load or open a new page.  I checked & when it was slow, Spectrum wasn't...
