I am booked in site 17 Friday morning through Monday morning. I'm bringing my kayak so I hope the weather is lovely for a few outings on the lake. If memory serves me, those sites are in a quiet loop along the water so we have instant access from our camp to the lake. Looking forward to it!

update, as of yesterday, all hookup sites for the dulcimer festival have been reserved. there is a "very short wait list" for those requiring hookups, according to the office personnel. the festival is free. it would be prudent for those who wish to attend the festival & require hookups to call the office & get on the wait list & check back with the office regularly to see if a site has opened up. for the boondockers, there are plenty of places available at this time. safe travels, y'all..........

The Texas State Dulcimer Competition & Festival usually books one year in advance of the event. As does the two large Blue Grass Festivals (first full weekend of April & first full weekend of October) it has been at Oakdale since 1972.  In the past they even made the folks living full-time at Oakdale Park move out. They finally backed off that policy with new management.

I live in Glen Rose and worked at Oakdale for 2 years. These events have been center state in the community for many years.

There is a new very nice RV park adjacent to Dinosaur Valley State Park that opened up this month.

Thanks, Claire. I was on the program a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Hope to make it out that way again sometime.
