Has anyone changed out the screws that secures the windows in their casita? if so, what are the sizes? And what about replacing them with stainless screws?

I know of someone that replaces all of the aluminum rivets in their Casita with SS screws. Don'tt have an answer on the windows. However, stainless steel apparently works as a replacement in other areas.

#6 Pan Head, Type A point, sheet metal screws, 1/2" long. And you can use stainless steel ones if you want to.

I knew Greg would jump in there sooner or later with the exact specifications.
Good to have a great "jack of all trades" on this forum.

If you use stainless screws, be sure to coat the screw threads with a dielectric grease to prevent galvanic reaction with the aluminum window frames.. Without grease, moisture from normally occurring condensation will over time cause the aluminum frames to corrode and fuse themselves to the stainless fasteners making them nearly impossible to remove without damaging or destroying the frames..

I have the ss screws ordered. I' m glad I saw this before I got them and installed them. I will begin my search for the dielectric grease before I install them. Again thanks for the help.
