Been asked to go visit my brother and stay at the Horseshoe Bay POA campground for a few days around Christmas. Never been there and know little about it, so this should be interesting.
Time to see what I am missing in my Casita (other than a small microwave.
Later Taters.

That part of the state along the Colorado River is beautiful and getting more heavily populated every year.

If you have the time and inkling to eat out, go over to Marble Falls and eat at the Blue Bonnet Cafe. If nothing else sample their pie.

Blue Bonnet Cafe pie came in second place to our own (Glen Rose) Pie Peddlers. This was based on a survey done by the television show, Texas Country

Reporter.

Have a wonderful Christmas

Happy Trails!

Pedernales Falls State Park outside of Johnson City is nice if you are looking for a nearby campground. We stayed there two summers ago and enjoyed the campground and neighboring area. You will probably drive through Marble Falls on your way down, so you can pick up a pie to go!

clover and Toddy,
Been to the Bluebonnet Cafe many times! Friends and I used to ride motorcycles there just to eat pie and ride back home. Used to go to Jake and Dorothys in Stephenville, but the last time, they only were making like three or four basic kinds of pie instead of the many unusual flavors. Hi I also had good pies.
I have heard of Pie Peddlers, but never got to go and give them a try.
New place in Abilene, only makes coconut pies every other Friday. :(

Report:
Wasnt impressed .....
Really rocky and if you have bad knees or a bad hip, you might could have problems walking around.
Small parking spaces, even for a Casita! There were a few longer spaces, but they were already taken by fifth wheels crammed in them. My space as I level side to side and front to back.
The campground was a good ways off the main highway and back through some residential streets.
Overall opinion? I will find another place to stay, if I go back down there.
