I wanted to make things really convenient for my wife so she would like camping. Not that she is wimpy or anything. She grew up on a farm and worked hard there. She just didn't care much for tent camping.

I installed a nice size flat screen TV. Made a hanging console for the DVD player and a radio with CD player with a killer sound system.

To top it off, I built a fireplace mantel and installed a digital fireplace for a romantic atmosphere. Wine rack with wine glasses even though we are t-toddlers. The fire place does put out 2,500 BTU's though. Really makes the camper toasty if winter camping. The digital works without having to turn on the heat.

We have other Mods for practicality.

Enjoy!

dinodave......

You've certainly given a new Casita twist to the old urge ".....to keep the home fires burning..."!

Congratulations on the mods.....hope to meet you somewhere down the road!

Frank

It is mounted in place. Since it is just the two of us, and I designed it to fit in the corner next to the fridge, it doesn't take up much space out of the bench.

Nobody ever sits that far over from the table even if we have friends to eat or play cards.

Thinking about selling these custom to Casita owners since every Casita is built the same. It has to be cut to fit to the curves of the seat, camper walls and for the shades to bypass the back of the mantle.

Gosh! And here I thought my propane fire pit was deluxe. That would be sweet during a winter camping trip, but alas, camping weather in Texas is ten months long. It would be super cool if it converted into something during warm weather months. Perhaps a book case. Ha!

Your fireplace really is special.  Very cozy.

Last year in Canada, we met a man who had a wood burning stove in his RV.  It was an older RV and had a stovepipe on the roof.  At first, I thought he was kidding but nope, he really did have a wood burning stove.

Seems like the smoke soot would smoke up the carpet inside. But cozy.
