We're planning a trip from Sandpoint ID to Carbondale CO.  Staying in Dillon MT one night.  Looking for someplace near Provo/Spanish Fork the next.  Any recommendations?

Near Spanish Fork, there is Diamond Fork campground. It is near Fifth Water hot springs which is found at the end of a 2.5 mile hike. Closer to Provo there are several campgrounds on the Alpine Scenic Loop up American Fork Canyon. There are several beautiful hikes nearby as well as Tibble Fork Reservoir and Timpanogos cave.

If you're just planning a quick overnight you might consider the Payson Walmart, 7 miles south of Spanish Fork, just off Interstate 15.

I've stayed at this Walmart four or five times and have found it friendly, accepting of RVs and, so far, safe.  Several eateries and fuel stations nearby.

There is a small RV "park" on your way, just off off of Highway 6 near the Spanish Oaks Golf Course run by the city of Spanish Fork. called the Canyon View RV Park. You have to make your reservation through the city, and it was not very expensive when we stayed there a few years ago. Nice little pond/lake just a short hike down the hill from the park. A little farther away just outside Mapleton, Utah is Whiting Campground, which offers more of a camp-in-the-forest type of experience. There is a trail that begins at the campground used by hikers and horseback riders. Nice little stream, lots of trees and shade, smaller campground.

If you are headed for I-70 and willing to drive a little further, Green River State Park is a great place to camp. All sites have at least water and electric hookups - dump station on site too. Free showers. AND you can catch a lunch/dinner at Ray's Tavern - best eats along the I-70 corridor!!! Reservations can be made on-line......
