Well the official photo contests seem to have died out.

So I'm starting one.

This month we will gather photos of campground lakes.

Eric's usual rules apply.

So come on - show us your photos.

Here is mine to get it rolling.

From Takhlakh campground with Mt. Adams in the background.  Rough road getting in there but worth the trip.

Since taking photos of water is by far my favorite subject, I have many to choose from, but since this photo of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park is what I use on my card, in fact, even my credit card, here it is.  Taken with a Nikon F3 HP High Point & Kodachrome 25 slide film, scanned with a Nikon CoolScan (yes, it is that old!).

Jim & Clare, thanks for bringing this thread back. Always fun to see other's images.

Milky Way over String Lake, Grand Tetons NP, WY, September 2016.  Taken with Canon 5 D Mark III, Samyang 14 mm f 2.8 lens, ISO 8K, 25 sec. Heard Elk bugling and coyotes howling the whole time I was out there. It was very dark and a bit creepy, I was singing out loud the whole time to let the wildlife know I was there.

Thanks Jim. It is so wonderful in the Tetons in the fall, the days are great and sometimes moose-filled and the nights a whole 'nother experience. Just edited my post to include the ISO & exposure time. It was 25 sec. at ISO 8K. Also, looking at that image and comparing it to some others I think that was taken with my Samyang 14 mm f 2.8 lens. Because neither that lens or the 24 mm lens communicate with the camera body it is  manual focus and the lens data is blank. Have to compare images and the one with more in it is the 14 mm, the one with a bit less scope is the 24mm. Probably TMI, sorry.
