Anyone else into Astrophotography?!? I'm trying to set up my telescope so that I can operate it from the Casita. Would love to share thoughts!
While I don't carry a telescope, I enjoy nighttime & low light photography. I live in the lee of Lake Ontario & we rarely have clear nights, but on trips to the west I've seen some amazing nighttime skies. Some samples here: Low Light Images.

Just out of curiosity. Why would someone announce in the open forum that they sent a PM. (Personal message) Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being personal?
Can't recall any names but know there are several members with your same interest. I've seen some of the photos.

many new posters do not know to check for PMs, some don't even know we can send/receive them til they get used to the new site. it would actually only "defeat the purpose" if i posted publicly the contents of the PM......LOL

Hi Debbie
I am into astro-imaging. I am working toward being able to do everything from the comfort of the Moonlight Manor. Do you attend major star parties like TSP and Okie-Tex? Here are some pictures of my setup and some Ha images I took at Ft Griffin SHS, TX a couple weeks ago.

Imaging at Fort Griffin SHS. It was very HOT! Good thing the Moonlight Manor has good AC.

I will try to help with your questions. Hopefully we can meet up at a star party sometime.

I think a quiet generator would be essential. You don't want to scare the stars away. Nice photo! Anyone manage to catch a falling star? And I don't mean stick it in your pocket either.
I'm talking capturing one in a photo. Guess it would be by accident in most cases. I know they predict meteor showers, so maybe not that uncommon.
