Has anyone put the Scamp bifold screen door in a Patriot deluxe? The AC unit makes the layout different than a 16 or 17.

I see people have posted this topic. Has this mission been accomplished?

not sure if anyone has done it, but when i saw a 13ft scamp recently with the bifold screen door, i seem to remember it is square at the top and doesn't fit the curved airplane door. it seemed it would allow insects inside pretty easily, so i'm not sure what the benefit of adding it on to our patriots would be. also, the air conditioner placement and curved airplane doors are the same in our 13 and 16 ft casitas. only the 17 ft casitas have flat doors and the larger air conditioners installed on the roofs.

Maybe one of the submarine screen doors would work. Sorry, I just can't resist sometimes. Well, most of the time. Oh, heck! Alright! All the time.

I made a screen door for my Patriot and I'd be happy to share photos with you but for some reason I could not attach them to a post. If you'd like you can PM me with an email address.
My screen door has much the same shape as an aircraft door. The frame is PVC pipe heated and shaped to fit the door's contour, and covered with a "pillowcase" sewn from fiberglass screen material. I needed something structural because I have large dogs.

Thanks Claire, Yes I saw one on a scamp 13 too. It was a bifold door that would have to be framed in on a Patriot.

Wally, Love the submarine idea (nice)

Codasmom, Sending an IM when I figure how to FB you.

Thanks for the photos codasmom. We have a little dog so I'm leaning toward modifying the scamp door as the panels are replaceable.

i built a bi fold screen door for my 16'er which is the same as the patriot as far as the door is concerned.  it's been working great for a couple of years.  no,, it doesn't keep every insect out but it sure keeps winston the wander dog inside.

Build a rectangular frame from wood, mount it inside to cabinets on each side of door opening. Take measurement from new frame built and order a retracable screendoor from Plisse' Screendoors. This is same screendoor that Scamp offers on their airplane shaped doors. Excellent quality screendoor quality and easy to install to your rectangular wood frame. $219.00 inc free shipping.

Unable to load pic here of my install but it's up on Casita Forum with pics and explanation of install.
