1992 Casita Spirit bought used had a group 27 Stowaway battery which is almost toast. As we don't intend to ever primitive camp the battery seems not to be a big issue. Can I drop down to a group 24? I have attached some photos of my power center which seems to have the option C, the automatic solid state battery charger. From what I have read when connected to commercial power the charger keeps the battery charged n when fully charged it drops to trickle. I also think when towing the auto alternator also charges the RV battery. I also have plans to install a battery cut off switch and use a battery minder.....good ideas?

Regarding the battery power disconnect, my rig has an inline fuse on the hot + side of the battery. Figure I would just remove fuse thus battery power is off/disconnected. Harbor Freight has a pretty straight forward battery minder/maintainer. I use these to keep my spare deer feeder and critter camera batteries hot.
