Welcome to the June/July 2015 Installment of our Casita Club Monthly Photography Contest!

This month's subject is:

"Your Best Panorama Shot"

The images posted must be some type of panorama.  Your photo can be from any time of the year, but it must be a panorama.

Please read the rules and requests below, then post up your image in this thread!

The winner of this month's contest will receive a $25.00 gift card to Amazon and one short-sleeve Casita Club T-Shirt with a back print.

Feel free to post comments in this thread as well!

Here is a video tutorial on how to upload an image to your post:

----------

The rules are quite simple and may change depending on the month and subject.

General Rules:

1)  Any photographs submitted must be owned by the member submitting the image and only one image per contest can be submitted per member.  HDR images are allowed.

2)  Images should be a minimum of 650 pixels on the longest side, if possible.

3)  The winning image may be re-posted on the front page, after the approval from the owner of the image.

4)  Submissions to the Monthly Photography Contest may begin after the monthly topic has been posted, until the end of the month.  Submissions must be either uploaded to The Casita Club Forums, or embedded from an outside website by the owner of the image.  No outside text links to images will be allowed.

5)  All submissions will be listed and voted on by The Casita Club membership at the end of the month.

6)  The winner of the monthly contest will receive a prize to be determined by The Casita Club and listed within the monthly topic thread.

7)  In order to give more people a chance at winning, individual members can only win once every 6 months.

8)  The winning images will be included in a **once-a-year prize**, to be determined by The Casita Club and listed within the separate quarterly voting thread. (this was changed on 10/01/2014)

9)  The Casita Club, or anyone associated with the owners of the CasitaClub.com website do not and will not claim any type of ownership or license of any images or photographs submitted to The Casita Club Forums.  Eric Mayer will be able to submit an image, but that image will not be included in the monthly votes.

Contest Requests:

I would love for folks to learn from the photographs posted here.  So, as much information as can be provided would be appreciated.  This includes some background information about the photograph, your camera, lens and settings, as well as any other information you feel would be beneficial.

Good luck to anyone who enters!  Feel free to ask any questions in this thread:  http://www.casitaclu...-photo-contest/

Since I don't believe I'm eligble yet to win again, I want to post more than one, what I consider interesting, panorama pictures pieced together from two or three individual shots taken with my Olympus E-500.

In August 2011, one leg of our Alaska camping experience was the 135 mile Denali Highway (AK Route 8) from Paxson on the Richardson Highway to Cantwell on the Parks Highway. At the eastern end we camped at Tangle Lakes BLM Campground, Mile Post 21, so we could have at least a full day to enjoy the Denali Highway.

At Mile Post 36.7 we stopped for at hike on the Maclaren Glacier Summit (4,086 ft) 2 mile trail.
Attached File  P8270207p.jpg   48.98KB   9 downloads

Next stop was for lunch at 50 Mile Lake at Mile Post 50.
Attached File  P8270216p.jpg   72.8KB   3 downloads

At the end of the day we stopped at a pull out, Mile Post 94.5, for grilled salmon and the night, in full view of the Alaska Range.
Attached File  P8270231p.jpg   70.26KB   9 downloads

The next morning the clouds had settled into the valley and the scene out our camper window was fall colors, clouds and mountains.
Attached File  P8280248p.jpg   73.99KB   2 downloads

So, I don't expect votes, just enjoy the pictures and Eric if these multiple pictures violate the rules, delete them.

Denali (The Great One)

Photo of Mount McKinley (20,237') was taken from about 35 miles away.  This Panorama was put together using Photoshop from photos taken with Nikon D7000 camera & 70 - 300 mm lens.  Lens was adjusted to 70 mm.  Photos were taken in July 2014.

Mothers Day Weekend at Arrow Rock State Historic Site, Missouri.  Hours before the high wind, hail and scary run to the shelter.  The tent barely survived, the poles didn't.  The hood of the van has hail damage, the table cloth, we through away because of all the holes, Casita was fine.  Shot with my iPhone 4S.

Taken this month just east of Page, AZ. The crescent moon is lighting up the butte, Milky Way above. This was 2 exposures taken with my Canon 6D, using a Sanyang 24mm f 1.4 lens (lens set to f 2.0). Am posting the gif of this image so it will upload and download faster.
