I will appreciate a reccomendation for camping near Baton Rouge the end of January. We will be attending a prayer conference in the city and want to camp nearby.

Thanks in advance.

We have stayed Farr Park Equestrian Center and RV Campground, 6402 River Road Baton Rouge, LA 70820 google earth Lat./Lon. (30.382700,-91.210906) several times.  Reasonable rates and its IMO it neat to hear the traffic on the Mississippi.

That is about the only place to camp that is within 45 minutes of Baton Rouge, too, so if you are going there for any activities, it is your best bet.

What about Lakeside RV Park? Pricey, but gets a good rating. Have you stayed there?

Pretty nice place, but a ways out of BR.  Depending on where your event is located.  Baton Rouge traffic is beyond bad most of the time as there is really only one east-west corridor.  No loops to get around accidents, etc.  If your event is West of the 10-12 split,  I would go for Farr.

I can also recommend Farr Equestrian - camped there for several days some years back.  Fun to watch the equestrian goings on in the arena, plus it is walking distance to the top of the levee to watch the traffic go by on the river.

Might be worthwhile to ask Farr or check out the nearby University sport schedule.  I was told Farr tends to fill up during games.

My event is at the Pete Maravich Center. Any idea how far that is from Farr. Ha ha. No pun intended.
