Saw a Casita pulled by a dark gray TV, not sure of the make, southbound on Hwy 101 between San Luis Obispo and Shell Beach, CA

Mike: have you been to Pt. Reyes BIrd Observatory? If so, did you camp in the vicinity? We're talking about a trip there one of these days.

Meadowlark, almost embarrassingly, after 40 years of birding, I have to admit I've never been there. My campground website I like shows a Samuel Taylor State Park nearby (no hookups) and several just north at Bodega Bay, also no hookups. Also a nearby Petaluma Lake military camping, but not sure if retired Army can use it, or just actives.

It's a great spot though, with an impressive bird list.

I don't know about the camping at Pt Reyes, but the Bodega Bay campgrounds are pretty good. You could get in easily enough without reservations during the week days. Lots of water birds to see.
