Sounds like you're not too far away. Have you been to the Casita plant yet?

Not yet. Just found out that little house customs is nearby. They told me today that I could come look @ their trailer and maybe refer me to locals who don't mind showing me theirs. Sounds great.

Posted times are probably the local time at the server hosting this website; most likely California if they seem earlier than your local time.

You gotta make sure your proper time zone is chosen in your "Settings"

If I were you, rather than stop by Little House Customs, I would visit the Casita factory where most every model is on the showroom floor to view. Part of your decision to purchase will be based on what floor plan works for you. You will not experience any high-pressure salesperson when you do visit; instead, you'll find that the folks there will simply answer your questions and show you what's available.

As of a week ago they have the Spirit, Freedom and Independence on display, not the Liberty. The Independence is the first "experimental" model that does not have the access doors installed into the sides of the sleeping platforms, only access is via the top under the mattress. They never have a Patriot on the floor for viewing. Although 2 weeks ago they had one out in the parking lot waiting to be picked up. Also they had the new carpeting and upholstery on display. I have been there three times that they had the Standard  models with bunk beds in the front (the military bases order this version for rentals to military personnel).

If you want to look at a Patriot and the one at the factory is gone. There is a Lady north of Dallas that I am sure wouldn't mind letting you have a look. Claire and her dog Merlin.

I don't think you will regret getting a Casita and meeting one of the best groups of people, EVER!

I was told that there is now access into the sides of the benches. Was I misinformed?

no you were not misinformed. There are access doors on both sides. I brought that up with the sales guy on the floor at the time. He said the one currenlty on the floor is the "prototype" for the Independence which did NOT have the access doors. I have seen 2 that have the doors since they first put this one on the showroom floor. I guess they point that out to potential Independence buyers.

I still find the lack of floor/foot space on the independence a bad design. They could have accomplished the twin bed option as many owners have modified in the past leaving adequate floor space by just extending the top surface for a wider twin bed without compromising foot space.

My trailer is available to view. Started out as a Freedom Deluxe. Now a Spirit Deluxe, with a Liberty feel (cut the partition wall WAY down). So Independent it is!!!! Hehe! Seriously, available to look at.
