I put down the holding payment on that NJ 2005 this morning! Now, I just need to return with the cash and I'm ready to do battle with the NJ and CT DMV. I'll do that wednesday. I test drove a jeep cherokee today and if the mechanic says it's OK, I'll have my tow vehicle and there's a garage just down the street that specializes in next-day hitches.
Today was my first time inside the patriot, and It's so cozy! I can't wait to get it home and really clean it out and figure out how I'll use the little storage bins. I'm thinking about plastic bins that lift right out, so I'll have to do some measuring and shopping.
The water/water heater/ and plumbing will be all new to me, so, I'll be back here with some really dumb questions.
I have a queen bed topper so I'll do what some on here have suggested and put the cushions on top of it to cut it to size, and make a cover and hope I can get it in there!
But it's such a great feeling that I can go no matter what the weather is, and not have that 3 hour campsite setup. I also like the feeling that I can lock the door and get a great night's sleep.
Claire, are you up here in new england? I think Sandy's in texas, right?
congratulations, sue, on your 2005 patriot purchase! and, like sandy said, i'm in lake dallas, tx. however, i go back to ohio roots regularly to see remaining family and have a retired sister/brother in law in saratoga springs, ny. i want to do a trip sometime to rice lake, ontario, canada to golden beach resort, where our parents took us as kids. how about a fall trip somewhere up your way around september? i'll PM you in a minute and we can start the planning, which is a lot of fun too!
like shelly said, have the seller go over every feature before you start out, watch the many helpful youtube videos available, get eileen's helpful cds, watch for and attend as many rallies as you can and ask any and all questions there and on this forum. there really are no dumb questions here, as we were/are all newbies and we all understand this new addiction called casita ownership. in fact, we're known as the "casita cult" in many circles rather than casita club, and that is a very accurate description.
i'm so excited for you, this is going to be one of the most fun things you've ever done and you'll meet some of the nicest folks. there are some fun things to do with your patriot to increase space and improve function for you, if you find the need. otherwise, your patriot is all set and ready to take you on some really nice trips to see some gorgeous places and visit wonderful people. happy and safe travels to you, claire and merlin, excellent schnoode
