After a few years of shopping for the right Spirt Deluxe at the right time, we finally found one. We have named her the HündeHutte because we travel with 3 dogs, yes.. you read that right ... 3 dogs!!  

 

so after getting the trailer and adding all the things we felt we needed, the valvectomy, a generator, new faucets and a few other small items, we took her out for her maiden voyage. destination Kernville California. Why Kernville, well it is in the lower part of the Sierras along a river, and not to far away from home if we needed to retreat back because of operator error with the HundeHutte.  And we had never explored that area before so off we went.

 

Boulder the Love Sponge enjoys the breeze as we leave our little mountain town

 

already well on our way we stop for a little break and snacks. The Slash X cafe in Johnson Valley Ca. The Mecca for off-roaders in southern Cal, people ride hours through the desert to grab a cold one and a burger here!

 

We arrive in Kernville well into the evening, and awoke to river Fun with the kids!

This lead to some great camp napping, and most found the cool breeze atop the picnic table to their liking

The mountain flowers where in full bloom, It was great to see many different colors all around

The area was fun to explore, from Mountain town to farm land, all very interesting!

and a short drive to a must do walk called the Trail of 100 Giants

  this picture does not do it justice, the Giant Sequoias are difficult to photograph! what beautiful giants!

 

 

 

There is plenty to see in the area,

from barn watching

and on our way back home we stopped in at Randsburg Ca. an old ghost town still somewhat alive!

 

I love rusting metal and old buildings!

 

 

we made it home, safe, tired and happy with our new Casita..

I had two mice aboard some time ago and I thought it was getting pretty crowded.

Wonderful pics. Must confess, though, that I never saw a dog pic that I didn't like.

 

I travel with three pups, too. They are great fun and the best of companions, as I'm sure you'd agree.
