Hi Doug

There is a group of Casita astronomers getting together at the X-Bar ranch at the end of this month. The X-Bar is the site of the Eldorado Star Party (ESP) http://eldoradostarparty.org/ that is held in the fall. At this time I know of at least 4 or 5 Casitas will be there as well as a couple other non Casitas that are planning to attend our "mini ESP". The Texas Star Party (TSP) is coming up at the end of May. http://texasstarparty.org/ and the Rocky Mountain Star Stare (RMSS) is in June up in Colorado http://www.rmss.org/ and The Okie-Tex Star Party is in the fall http://www.okie-tex.com/index.php Okie-Tex is my favorite of the large star parties. We also go to Fort Griffin SHS from time to time. I am working on setting up for portable HF operation from the Moonlight Manor which should also be fun.

Doug,

Congrats on the new "toy".  We just took our second trip in our new Casita to Fort Parker State Park.  My parents lived in Mexia when I was in  college.  The Cynthia Ann Parker story is both fascinating and sad from many view points.  We enjoyed revisiting the area and recalling the story.

Enjoy the journey and safe travels.
