So much for a slower pace back.. 950 miles today. Just 350 short of home! What a crazy trip to pick up our trailer. I have poked around it a little and will have a few questions I know people on this Board will answer!!

Made it home.. 2900 miles in 3 and a half days.. I wanted to get my new baby home to show my Wife "Cheri" and be in a good spot to do some minor touch ups on the Casita. You guys know how it is.. Our real maiden voyage will be in a week after I figure out all the bells and whistle.

Hi Les,

Looking forward to seeing what the previous owner did as a modification.  I too have the Spirit Deluxe and love it.  This is my second Casita coming from the 16' to now the 17'.  Wished I had known sooner it was only a few hundred pounds difference and I have no problem towing it with a Tacoma.

We spoke about the Lake Casitas Rally in October. Hope you both will join us and learn a whole bunch about fiberglass rigs!  I know I have and love the camaraderie and sharing of ideas about our little rigs!

Paula

As Robin Williams once said - "waiting with a worm on my tongue" (baited breath) to see the mod pictures.

Well as it turn out, the mod is factory, it was the lever in the closet that controls the back flow from the shower, I thought it was a mod the previous owner did as it was done so shoddily. The electric conduit and badly done fasteners looked like something us hillbillies would of done. I was shocked when Larry at LHC told me that was done at the factory. Well, anyway, I ordered the fix from Larry and will put that valvectomy in right away.

Have to think that the Hepro would actually be a cheaper and faster way for the factory to do it in the first place.  Less moving parts is always better, I feel.

Les, you failed to mention the most important part.....did your wife like the camper when you arrived back home?

Yes indeed, she is very happy!,,, we are going on our first trip this week to a little Sierra town called Kernville, it's only 4 hours from us, so that's a good distance to give the trailer a good shake down for us. I will do a trip report on our return.
