Hello everyone,

We have just ordered our new 2014 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe and can't wait to pick it up in March. We feel like we know many of you already as we have spent a lot of time reading and researching the posts on various topics in these forums before deciding on the Casita. The forums have already proven to be a valuable tool for us and we are certain it will continue to be so in the future. One of the selling points for the Casita is definitely the loyalty and camaraderie of the owners as expressed in the Casita Club. You are a tight knit family for sure. Once we begin our many planned excursions in our new home away from home we hope to meet many of you in person. Our first trip after leaving Rice, TX will be a journey to Florida to visit some friends who are former Casita owners themselves. We love camping, hiking, reading and spending time with our Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix, Yogi Bear. Paul is retired and Michelle works from home as a German to English translator of technical documents.

See you on the adventure road soon!

Welcome Paul and Michelle!
Chuck and I are in central NC. We've only been out a couple times in our camper thus far, so we'll practically be Casita Newbies together! Be sure to look out for the rally in Cherokee next October. You'll be veterans by then!

You'll learn a lot while you wait...

Here we sit in Ennis, TX with all the other ice travelers praying to the sun gods to bring relief.....soon!  Our little Casita sits somewhere on the Casita factory lot, but the gates are locked as the factory is closed due to yesterday's ice storm.  Roads were pretty bad around here this morning, and we were not able to pick up our new camper as planned.  We made it to the factory, but I guess the local workers could not.  No one there to return phone calls or advise if they will even be open tomorrow....sigh!  Winter, winter go away.  Please.

"They" say - good things come to those who wait...  you are waiting... it is a good thing that is coming you way.  Be safe, that is the most important thing - to you and the workers at Casita.

Sorry you guys are having to wait to pick up your new Casita. It will be worth it. Stay warm, be safe. Although we live about 40 miles from Ennis we are from Tennessee originally. We have been in Tx. for 35 years but find that these folks are not prepared for ice and have no idea of how to drive in winter weather. Just stay out of their way for a day or two and all will be well.

Welcome to the club Paul & Michelle, congrats on the new Casita. If you ever think about strolling thru north central Arkansas, check out Mountain View, AR. Our little town is still roughly 40 to 50 years behind other places (in some ways) Folks still gather round the court house and city park to play and sing. Mostly folk music, but a variety sometimes as people come from all over. Pretty nice place to vacation and after years of vacationing here, we decided to pack up and leave Shreveport, LA. Google it... you might be surprised.

Look us up if you head this way, Dennis & Jackie

P.S. the beard is seasonal, so Dennis might not look the same as pic ;-)

Welcome to the forum new Casita owners. Hope the weather is better in Texas today.

Dennis,

We plan on visiting Mountain View in September/October 2014. I met a man at a bluegrass festival in the Arizona desert last week that had been there several times. He said it is a not to miss spot.

Hi Randy,

If you have any interest in bluegrass... then you will love it here. Drop us a note a little in advance so we can try to hook up with you.

Success!  We are now the proud owners of our new Casita 17 SD as of  04Mar2014.  The Casita folks had a tough day on the 4th with six deliveries, but I'm sure they handled them all professionally.  The drive out of Texas toward Tyler was an adventure, but the ice finally disappeared in Louisiana.  Happy trails to everyone.

Paul
