I am in process of ordering a 17' Spirit Dlx and am inclined to get the electric tongue jack, but I have a question: If I lose power to the motor, or it has some other problem, is there a backup manual way of lifting the tongue short of using a scissor jack? I was hoping maybe there was a way to insert a manual crank, or some such provision

Yep, as far as I know, that's the way they all work! Just don't forget where you put the crank!

Yes, the electric tongue jack I purchased in Rice, Texas with my 2013 Casita has a manual backup.

We have just ordered a SD and looked at that issue. The bubble level that is on the top of the electric jack must be removed (3 screws, i think) and the manual crank is inserted on the shaft that is under the level.
