Interesting to  note that a remote starter and control  is finally available for the Honda 2000 generator. This is no small engineering feat. Currently, you must buy  the generator from the company with the remote features installed. He is also working on a kit to sale to those with existing generators, but I suspect the kit may not be an easy install with a linear actuator for the choke and gearing for the starter.

• Remote control start, stop economy mode and outlet power.
• Remote extended run fuel system
• Self contained electric starter
• Metal planetary reduction gears in the starter
• Metal 90deg bevel gear starter drive.
• 100% disengagement of the starter by inverted sprag drive.
• 12 volt battery to power the starter and the remote radio.
• Battery is charged by the 12volt coil in the generator and protected against accidental discharge by a diode.
• Liner actuator automatically operates the choke.
• Can be switched in and out economy mode by remote control.
• Bottom 20a outlet can be turned on and off by remote control.
• The recoil start still functions as a back up for the electric start.
• Manual choke still functions for recoil start mode.

Bob, hold on to that checkbook a little longer. He indicated that he will soon be coming out with a cheaper, better model.

Price for conversion to the current version of the remote control was quoted at $900.

If he can get that price point down, I think he will have a real winner.
