I did not like this so I started experimenting. I had a short 12 gauge extension cord, plugged the AC into the extension cord and the extension cord to the Honda EU 2000. Started the Honda set the Honda on ECO mode turned on the AC, the Honda revved up, took the surge and then idled back down to eco mode or maybe a little higher but not at full throttle. I let the AC run for a while and confirmed that each time the AC compressor kicked on the Honda would rev up take the surge and then idle back down. So all I did was to run the AC cord and an appropriate length of the 12 gauge out the door where the main umbilical power cord came out and ran the AC only off the Honda EU 2000.
FWIW, I replaced the front AC with a roof top AC because the front AC would not cool the 17’ in the Gulf Coast heat and humidity. We use the exact same set-up for the roof top air. The only time the roof top AC in cool mode is connected to the circuitry on the trailer is when we are plugged into shore power. If we want the roof top AC and compressor to run off the Honda EU 2000 I just unplug the AC from the circuitry on the trailer, plug the AC into the same extension cord and fire up the Honda. Works great.

Im debateing between the Yamaha 2000i and the 2400i. After reading some of the issues Im wondering if the extra $350 for the 2400i might just make more sense. Heavier (Im in my early 40's so the weight isn't an issue) uses more fuel... but would be running at 25% load most of the time... thought about the trifuel conversion and run it from my propane tank.
