We just brought our new 13 foot Patriot Deluxe home and were disappointed that it would not fit in our garage. With the weather in Oklahoma we would like to put a cover over it. We do not want to build a cover, just have something we can drape over it before the storm hits.

We are retired and plan to hit the road in March. We have been tent campers forever so we are looking forward to heat, air and no headaches with packing a wet tent.

I joined the form to get ideas about storage and keeping it covered in the driveway.

¡Hola! from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Welcome to the Forum.

I have read posts concerning covers, as well as stowing trailer in garages in the past. We went with a freestanding carport Wal-Mart was selling for ours. Just wondering, show much space is needed to get the 13' Patriot into the garage, or should I say, how much Patriot made it too tall to get into the garage. I remember reading a post about needing to get smaller tires on a trailer so it could fit into a garage. One can lower the heigh some by letting air out of the tires, then re-infate them after inside the garage, if the garage door is too low to allow the trailer in.

You can also do a search of the forum for trailer covers. Many like CalMark have been discussed.

My 17 SD barely fits under my carport and I got the longer legs for it, if it had the top A/C it would never fit

We live in the NE so leave the camper uncovered during the summer/spring/fall months. We do cover it for winter (I know everyone says not to use a tarp but we use a grey tarp) and have not had a problem. Maybe because it is so cold?? When we uncover it in the eary spring it is exactly like we put it away--nice and shiny from a wax job before winte.
