I am a new Casita owner :). Has there ever been a group camp out in this area? Is there any interest in getting one together?

I dont know of any past events in Coeur D'alene, but we past thru it this last summer on our way to Canyon Ferry Dam, where I used to live as a teenager, and we liked the area (except for the sleezy motel we had to stay in). Depending on the timing, we might combine your event with a visit to Glacier Park.

Why don't you put together a proposal (time, date, length, campground, etc) and post it here to see what interest it generates.

If you're interested in a gathering or putting together a gathering in Coeur d"Alene, I would suggest you post on www.FiberglassRV.com.

I don't believe there are many Casita owners in your area, so opening it up to all brands of fiberglass trailers might work better.

Hi Mary

We live in Salt Lake City and have driven through your area enought to know it is a beautiful place. Why don't you post your idea and see how many folks are seriously interested and take it from there? It can't hurt. We are committed to two camping events this coming season but are interested in what you have in mind. We prefer events where there is something to do, see or learn. I don't particularly like to tow my trailer someplace and then sit around and look at each other. Just my preference.

Sounds good to me. The only thing that I'm booked for so far is Maryhill in May. I'm just down the road in Spokago.

I'm north of you just a bit. Farragut State Park is a nice campground, on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille. And since it was a Naval training station in WW2, it has lots of neat historical aspects as well. I think they also have group camp sites, but doubt they have any hookups in those sites (not sure, though).

As has been posted...

Start small and build on success. There have been/are NO bad Rallies.

It can be as simple or as complicated as you want. Frankly, I'm the "queen" of simple.

My wife & I are "soon to be" Casita owners. (We pick up our egg in May.) Thus, I am new to this and other forums, but on one of them I read about a past rally at an RV park on the west banks of Lake Coeur d'Alene, just south of town. Once we pick up our trailer, we would be interested in a future gathering.

Depending on the date you choose, I would be interested in coming over from western Washington.

In 2008, the Quartzsite Gathering had 13 trailers (mostly Casitas).
In 2009, there were 33 trailers (mostly Casitas).
In 2010 and 2011, there were around 63 trailers (mostly Casitas).
In 2012, there were 86 trailers (mostly Casitas).

Just goes to show that "If you plan it, they will come." It takes a year or two to build momentum.

@Donna: You're going to have to share that crown. I'm with you when it comes to K.I.S.S. Lots of people don't care about being inundated with a bunch of planned events. They're just happy to get together!

It sounded like a good idea. But, the way that it's going it's probably not going to happen this year.
