Kumho 857 failure. 39 months old, approximately 15k miles. Left or driver side had bulge, separation. Caught it on inspection so no failure on the road that could had led to trailer damage.
I will be getting Maxxis this time around but will replace at every 36 months from now on. I check tires and lugs every trip and run at 65psi.
I have a trip planned in a few days so I went to walyworld and got a set of Marathons and will put them on my utility trailer when I get the Maxxis set. Walmart won't put on trailer tires so they had me pull them off in the parking lot. To bad Kumho or Maxxis are not as easy to get as a local walmart.

Walmart missed out on a 3 tire sale when they wouldn't remove them and put them back on my Casita when we had the first tire failure. They would only do the spare even though I was in a wheelchair.

Costco won't remove or install a wheel/tire on a trailer either, but they sell trailer tires and will install them on the wheel. <_<

Folks, you can't blame these places that refuse to handle trailers.

Their employees are not trained on how to safely jack them up, and they'd have to do them outside where the trailer could fall on a customer, etc.

I support their refusal on common-sense safety and liability grounds alone. It's just not worth the hassles (law suits) for high volume dealers to sell an occasional tire.

I am sure there are small tire stores who would welcome the work at premium pricing (for the tires or the service).

Discount tire has never refused to remove tires, mount tires, spin balance them, and remount them on my Casita.

They will also rotate them when requested.

Didn't Eric recently ask that the endlessly continuing tire saga be confined to the Tire Report section?

My mistake. At the beginning of this thread, there was good information that would help folks with any possible future tire problems.

It then went the direction of all the tire threads.

So, this is now being moved to the correct forum.

Thanks!

Thanks Eric. I didn't know this would get out of hand, just wanted to pass on my experience so others might avoid what I had gone through.
