Hello all!

We are heading out West from Michigan and will be looking for places to stay in the Portland, OR area as well as along the coast. If memory serves, Cannon Beach was easily reached from Portland... any good sites in this or nearby areas?

This will be my first return after moving out 10yrs ago! Really looking forward to it!

Thanks for any input!

Your best bet for RV sites in Oregon are the State Parks. They are all very nice, & reasonably priced, but not cheap, $16-$20. There are several on the Columbia River east of Portland that are good, especially Deschutes River & Melamoose parks. On the coast, there are many, Ft Stevens, Nehalem Bay, Beverly Beach, etc. If you are going on the weekend, you will want to get a reservation. You can do this by phone, or online. It costs $6 either way. Just put 'oregon state parks' into any search engine, & the official state park website will come up, & then just follow the yellow brick road. Have fun!... houston/waltman,,, #1312,,, Salem, OR

Just wondering when you will be in the Oregon area. There is a rally at Bullard's Beach Oregon the weekend of July 16 to the 18th. (63 trailers so far). Several of us will arrive on the 15th and depart on the 19th. Nancy Wolf is our leader for the rally.

There are three of us going to Silver Falls campground before that. Maybe you will be able to join us. :danc:

Well, thanks for the responses... unfortunately, I didn't get them in time as we had to leave that Saturday! :D

We ended up staying at an RV park at Seaside, OR for two nights.
The Circle Creek campground on Highway 101 just South of Seaside. It was very quiet and well run... the showers and laundry, by that time, were greatly appreciated and the owners were very pleasant.
We also stayed on the street outside my niece's NE Portland apartment which was also very quiet and my niece's shower was lovely. ;)

Wish we could have made the NW casita fest!!! We did manage to see an ancient Burro in Seaside and another newer Casita driving through the Cannon Beach area.... very exciting as we rarely ever see other "eggs" in Michigan!

Be well all!
