Hello To All Colorado Rocky Mountain Casitas and F/G Owners,

We are still a small informal group who enjoys an occassional campout up in national forest campgrounds, forest lands, and parks. Staying small and unorganized to lessen the impack in the area. We generally rendezvous on weekends. (Some still work full time) Meeting on the eastern slope, central to the majority, keeping travel time and expenses to a minimum. We don't have anything planned soon that I know of. There is still snow and many closed campgrounds @ 8000' and above. And more snow is in the forecast this week. I will get the word out through the Casita "get together" forum when I hear of a rendzvous. Infact... if you want others to join you, please send an open invitation and see who shows up. I hope to meet and camp with other Casita or F/G owners
this year in the Rockies.

Hey Clinks and all. Shirley and I are still here. It's been rather crazy of late with me having another Heart attack about a month ago but I'm doing really well now and hopeful of a much better future.

We still have a plan to meet up in the Dillon Colorado area in August. Joel and I had put some plans together for that. I'll try to add Laura and Wendell and Linda to the E mail list I put together and in the next few days put out an update for that. David, I'll give you a call soon to discuss this.

Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

Keith

Wow, a lot of time has passed since I started this thread, and a lot of things have changed. I still wish the ROCKY MOUNTAINS had their own section. Or, how about "FLY-OVER COUNTRY" ? That sure seems to be the case out here, eh? rolleyes.gif

Let's hear from some of you in the area. I'd like to start thinking about a summer Rally in Colorado. Anyone interested?

Our last three rallys (Boyd Lake, Mueller, Golden Gate) were great, and a lot of fun! Perhaps we can try a new location like Ridgeway. Marka and I would be glad to help.

Hi walt, Shirley and I attended a rally at Boyd Lake a few years ago when we had a Bigfoot 21 RB. Were you the folks we followed home over East and visted with a while? We have since sold the Bigfoot, bought a Park Model Trailer in Mesa, AZ then sold it last March, then bought another Casita. Still the best size for traveling around.

Hi Keith & Shirley --

You should think about creating a Group on Yahoo for the folks in Colorado. It's very easy to set up.
http://groups.yahoo.com/

You'll find that it's more reliable in getting the word out about upcoming events as compared to posting in this forum, since all group members are notified via their person email when there's a new post.

There's one for egg owners in Arizona called Desert Eggs.

Hi Eileen, thanks for your comments. That's probably a great idea because it's hard to keep surfing all of the Fiberglass forums when we're all so busy. I don't want to be redundant, either, with groups that are already out there and functioning. So, I'll look into it and I hope that anyone else seeing this, will let me know if they already have a group. I have heard from a couple of people in Co already.

BTW, we spend a lot of time in AZ, just got back from 2 weeks down there with our Casita. 1 week at Goodlife RV Resort in Mesa at Val Vista & Main and the 2nd week at the old Roadrunner RV park out on 92nd, just North of the Casino on McKellips. Not a bad park and real close to my elderly Aunt in Scottsdale.

After we sold our Bigfoot a few years ago, we bought a Park Model trailer at Goodlife RV but just sold it last March and got another Casita. Still have "itchy" feet even at this old age. We stayed at the AMERICAN RV PARK just West of Albuquerque for one night on the way home and, man what a beautiful park and really super people. We would have stayed a couple days but had to "thread the needle" through that winter storm in Southern Colorado last Tuesday.

We were parked right next to Chuck & Sandy, with their Casita at American. They were on their way home from camp hosting in Maine. Nice folks. They were having Turb problems with their Tug and I wonder how it worked out.

Can we get in your Desert Eggs group too, because we will be coming back for sure.

Regards,

Keith

Hi Keith -- Eileen's suggestion is a good one. I belong to several yahoo groups and the notification email lets me keep up without the surfing for relevant postings. Let me know if you set up a group and I will spread the word through my contact list.

Keith --

Anyone who's interested in Arizona camping can join Desert Eggs.

Not a lot of formality. Basically someone decides to camp somewhere and invites others to meet up.

I would like to find out who is in Colorado, or close by, that would like to get together once in a while for a weekend. I know of a couple of people already, but I would be happy to be a "gathering point" for information on this. I live in the Denver area and I would think we could get some folks together for good times within about a 3 hour drive maximum for anyone.

If any of you are interested, feel free to contact me as follows.

Who knows, we might even warrant our own "slot" on this category. It could be called----Rocky Mountains, or something like that.

Thanks,

Keith Williams

Hi Keith, I am very interested in Colorado Casita get togethers. I live in La Veta, CO and know of two other Casitas here who may be interested. Keep up posted and after the snow leaves us perhaps we can plan a CO GT.

Thanks to all of you that responded. I sure don't want to over ride any existing groups that get together in this area and hope that we can put a few "very informal" gatherings together next year. I've only put the trailer away a few days ago and I'm getting "itchy feet" already.

Stay warm, eveyone.

I checked "Colorado Eggs" and "Rocky Mountain Eggs" on the Yahoo forums and both are available.

I'd be glad to help set it up if someone would like to volunteer to be the Moderator(s) (which probably wouldn't involve any work).

I tried to reply to your post but it went away when I hit the button to post it. If it shows up, then this will be redundant.

Anyway, thanks for the offer. When I get a bit of time, I'll look into them and get back to you. I think that sounds like a plan.

Thanks to all of you that have responded.
