Just purchased an Equalizer WDH and installed it myself. I chose the 1000/10,000# model because I might want a larger trailer someday. This hitch requires a coupler ball with a one and 1/4 inch shank which I had to order. The hitch weighs a little over 100# and requires some heavy duty wrenches (one and 13/16 inch for the ball nut and one and 1/8 inch for the large nuts on the hitch itself). I did not have these sockets in my toolbox! These nuts torque to 200 ft-lbs which is quite a workout. Adjustments are sort of a trial and error process to get the tow vehicle as level as possible (steps easy to follow). The brackets mount just in front of the propane tanks which is 27" behind the coupler. The hitch works well, but the noise will take some getting used to. Cost $520 plus tax. See "Sway control in the rain" Oct 3 in the Casita Forum. Trailer Life has an article on the Equalizer WDH in the Jan '03 issue.
